What is it?
Monthly cash benefits distributed through the Social Security Administration to people who have recently worked and paid Social Security taxes and are unable to work for a year or more because of a disability. What do you get? Your benefit amount is based on your lifetime earnings and can be seen on your Social Security Statement. Statements are mailed once a year to workers over the age of 25 and can be requested at any time. To have a statement sent to you complete the request form. How long do you get it? Benefits continue until you are able to work on a regular basis. |
